Orange construction sign with blue sky background

The City of Walker and Kent County Road Commission (KCRC) are collaborating on various projects to improve the intersection at 4 Mile Road and Walker Avenue during the 2024 construction season.

The road surface will be removed and replaced for the entire project limit. The new roadway will include concrete curb and gutter and will be widened to accommodate a center turn lane. This project will be constructed concurrently with a separate project at 4 Mile Road being performed by the Kent County Road Commission (KCRC). The KCRC project at 4 Mile Road will include a re-alignment of the intersection and the addition of a traffic signal.

Other work on the Walker side of the project will include extending sanitary sewer and water main from Northridge to 4 Mile.

School bus stop locations will be coordinated with Kenowa Hills Public Schools throughout the project. The construction schedule begins August 12 and is expected to wrap up mid November.
