Complete reconstruction of Leonard Street between Wilson and Kinney Avenue will start in July. This project will add a center turn lane and sidewalk on both sides of the street. Please visit our Leonard Reconstruction Project Site for daily updates on the progress and information on detours.
The project will include reconstructing the roadway with curb & gutter, adding storm sewer, connecting sidewalks and planting street trees. The traffic signal at Kinney and Leonard will also be upgraded and replaced. During construction, the roadway will be closed to through traffic. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses along the corridor. Access may be tough at times as the required deep excavation activity transitions through the areas with poor soils.
Construction is expected to begin around July 9th and extend into early November.
The City of Walker will host an open house to be held in the City Commission Chambers at Walker City Hall , 4243 Remembrance Road NW, from 4:30 to 6:00 on Monday, June 25, 2018. If you are unable to attend but would like to ask questions you may direct them to project manager Jason Washler at 364-8491 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to giving you the chance to see the plans and ask questions of the design team. Thanks in advance for your patience during this busy construction season.
