On behalf of the City of Walker, welcome to our great city and thank you for visiting my profile.
With our previous Mayor Mark Huizenga’s election to the State House of Representatives, it created a vacancy in the Mayor’s office. By our City Charter the Mayor Pro-Tem is appointed to fill the Mayors role, which I will be doing through 2022. Prior to this, I have represented the 2nd Ward of Walker as a City Commissioner since January of 2013.
Our family first moved to Walker in 1998, and have since then resided at 2068 Deerfield NW. I have been married to my wife Cori since 1990. We have three adult children: Alex, Brenden, and Caitlin. Alex and Caitlin are both police officers for local departments, while Brenden is finishing Dental School at the University of Detroit Mercy. We are also members of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church here on the west side.
Currently, I am employed in a leadership role with a software and technology company. I lead a sales team that covers most of Michigan, and northern Indiana. Prior to that, I enjoyed over twenty years with two Fortune 500 companies where I held various sales and leadership roles.
I have also served in numerous roles with the Kenowa Hills School District. Some of my involvements include serving as a High School Football Coach, Education Foundation President and Trustee, and multiple Facilities and Bond Committees.
In addition to serving as Mayor, I represent the Walker community in the following city roles:
- Finance Committee
- Personnel Committee
- Emergency Planning Committee
- Building Committee
- Police/Fire Sub Committee
- Grand Valley Metro Council
- Interurban Transit Partnership (The RAPID) Board of Directors
